Forging lives or dies on heat and dies.

Open and closed-die forging is a chain of hot, fast stages where the loss is always upstream of where you find it — a cold billet becomes a lap at the press, a worn die becomes a reject at inspection, a short cycle becomes a hardness fail a day later. Munshi keeps the furnace and press readings on the same clock as the reason the operator logged, so the cause is attached to the stage that made it.

Your ERP logs what each stage produced — billets heated, forgings pressed, batches treated.

It won’t tell you the soak ran long, the die was past its life, or the cycle held short — the causes that show up two stages later.
